Night view from observatory
to the north-west

The background image is a 60 sec night shot with my CP995 taken on March 30, 2002.
The area up to 15 km distance is rural with moderate illumination;

At 25 km distance the city of Graz with
250 000 inhabitants is a severe light source, you see its reflection to the thin clouds at right behind the hill.

Typical limiting magnitudes are:
Mag 4.5 (at humid situations)
to Mag 5.5 (at high transparency).

At good transparency conditions the milkyway is well visible. Most deep sky digicam images have been done during periods of high transparency.
